ADHD Assessment & Treatment

According to American Psychiatry Association Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common mental disorders affecting children. ADHD also affects many adults. Symptoms of ADHD include inattention (not being able to keep focus), hyperactivity (excess movement that is not fitting to the setting) and impulsivity (hasty acts that occur in the moment without thought). ADHD is diagnosed as one of three types: inattentive type, hyperactive/impulsive type or combined type. A diagnosis is based on the symptoms that have occurred over the past six months.

Summit Behavioral Health providers have vast experience and knowledge needed to develop a treatment plan that includes psychotherapy and medication management to  helps patients achieve sustainable recovery. OUR THREE STEP PROCESS:

1. ADHD ASSESSMENT

First step is to complete evaluation by one of our trained medical professionals who utilize comprehensive, multi-step process, including a clinical interview, a medical history review, and the variety of rating scales to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. This assessment will help identify ADHD and any possible related problems.

2. MEDICATION MANAGMENT

One of our mental health providers will review the assessment report, discuss treatment options and prescribe medications as appropriate. They will also develop an individualized care plan that includes follow-up visits to monitor side effects, keep tabs on how you’re feeling, and adjust the dosage accordingly.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Our Psychologists utilize modalities such as Cognitive-behavioral therapy to identify and change the behaviors that are causing problems in life. They work closely with your medication prescribers to make sure that the treatment goals are met and you are achieving long-term recovery.

We accept most major insurances including Medicare, Medicaid, Minnesota Care, BCBS and more. We are  accepting new patients currently. Call 651-358-7020 to book appointment.
